Its ok.. Back then, when i posted those posts, i actually thought it was a router, which it isn't. I formatted and re-installed windows xp onto my computer. What is the make and model of the modem or router or whatever is connected to this cable?

In order to create a new network connection, there needs to be an adapter to bind it to. Right Click on the Broadcom Nextreme Gigabit Internet, and click Properties. Network adapter is normal and fine. Click Finish to complete the task.
