Re: 2003 Domain controllers on VMware ESX Server tgatesnc Feb 6, 2008 5:27 AM (in response to ErikCarlseen) Hello,I'm sorry to say that our problem has not been resolved yet. How are you suppose to organize your time.In this case I have a DC in Amsterdam, and a member server in Darwin. I didnt think it would matter, after all, all I thought the OU would matter is if it happened to have some kind of (delegation) rights on there that where non-standard.. Upon login, the system cannot find my network profile. this contact form

You receive event ID 1097 and event ID 1030 errors when a Windows Server 2003 domain controller starts? During the time that the server is unresponsive I have all kinds of errors in the event viewer that I will list below.

I have worked with VMware at other places without a lot of issues, but here there seems to be a lot of issues with it.
The error is in the data field. System time itself seemed to be syncronous. How many DCs in each domain? Is it synchronized with the domain controller?
Every 15-30 minutes the user recieves an error message on the screen sayin: An error occurred while reconnecting Y: \\Servername\Share Microsoft Windows Network: The network path was not found. A local or remote program sends a request to the PDC Emulator and it is starting up. 3. It sounds kind of networking related to me. but in this virtual pc world, there is no external world, so the DC will have to make do with the CMOS.

It's almost like NetLogon, group policy processing, and replication are the main things affected.I'll guess I need to dig into it more. Thanks Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 5.
It is recommended that you either configure a reliable time service in the root domain, or manually configure the PDC to synchronize with an external time source. Very strange but as soon as that was turned off it was all good. We plan to demote these two DC's and delete them in the near future so I'm kind of just coaxing it through for now. We found this to be related to time rather then NIC or VMware tools. DCDiag passed all other tests. And by our little experiment we have shown that if the time-zones dont match up, you get problems.
The only option I have at this point is to power the virtual machine off and back on again. Your only domain controller is starting up and the NetLogon and Directory Services are NOT yet ready to service requests, and respond to queries with a 'netlogon paused' message. I had the same situation like 'VM User', the NTP setting was not done on one of the VM Server hosting the guest machine which had these messages... Show 37 replies 1.
