Same thing, 80GB hard drive, 15GB used, changed the drive to In my case it was because someone provisioned an IDE disk with the VM as opposed to a SCSI disk.I was able to get arround the issue by using Converter as Takes care of the OS side of expansion as well. Unallocated space is always needed in order to resize the disk partition, so you should ensure that there is free space on other partitions on the same virtual disk. 2.
