Ping Virtual Machine From Host Vmware
Anyone that can help me out here? This separation maximizes security since by default virtual machines cannot talk to each other. If you don't mind your VMs to be on the same physical network your host is connected to then you can use bridged adapter too. This coupled with your static IP addresses should do the trick.
If the host is not connected, you will need Host only network.
The Ambari install wizard does not support using IP addresses.
I've edited /etc/hosts : 127.0.0.1 localhost 10.0.0.1 base.localdomain base How can I assign FQDN to each VM, and make sure the machines can see each other?
Testing◈ Host Machine Ping to all guest Host-only IPs (10.1.2.11, 10.1.2.12 …) SSH to all guest VM◈ Guest Machine Ping to ‘www.google.com’ to make sure external network works
