What's occurring is the label printer is getting marked as default after the session is terminated. After loosing many years of my life to this issue, I eventually just force-set defaults through GPO preferences. I have a Windows 2008R2 server that is used by our accounting group as a RD server. Each user has a printer on their desktops which are on the local network. Q.

Tricerat has solutions that work beyond this. They are able to click on any printer and even view the printer que, but no default printer is selected and it will not allow you to select one...the option is Database administrator? You may get a better answer to your question by starting a new discussion. One option is to make the changes manually for all the users and another is to create a batch file to create the key and use it as logon script.
