Here is my code: a=UINDGEN(2000,6000,150) a GE= 100 b=TOTAL(a) I get the memory allocation error on the second line. It lets the OS do it. It seems to be pretty good, I have 677664 elements only on the surface. P.S: About buying a new computer, it was a joke But if you want to run a DNS simulation, you should buy a cluster October 26, 2010, 10:12
If APC is using mmap memory then you have no limit. However, this set of executive commands are not really related to your 'out of memory' conditions. As c33s said, use apc.php to check your config. https://www.physics.wisc.edu/~craigm/idl/archive/msg05531.html for gambit, the suggestion would be similar, but the mechanics are different.
i'm running into some memory allocation issues, hope somebody could help, please?i'm running a script that process l2binned, daily SeaWiFs and MODISA images to l3binned/mapped, then output to asc and png. I've tried implementing ..LOCALS 100,100 and that doesn't seem to work either.
This happens for every edit operation, but global operations really affect a lot more nodes.
yes, you're right, i'm running idl batch scripts.
I doubled my cache size (32 to 64 MB) and dropped the ttl to 0.
but i want more finer mesh (1 spacing)..
One question concerning ICEM batch: how much memory does it saves (just approximately)?
so my solution was to set the ttl to 0, so apc fills up the cache an there is allways the possibility for apc to clear some memory for new data.
VAX shouldn't matter, unless your user quotas are rather restrictive.

This can be done using the /USERVA switch. me using 32bit, 3GHz, 4 GB ram system.. I don't think I am in need of more memory. 34MB of dynamic memory should not be a problem.

Does the error happen when the file_mask is not one of these values? If you have TTL for 5 hours, you end up with 5 hours worth of errors waiting for those infrequent files to expire. –Matthew Kolb Nov 26 '13 at 23:48 |
