I use Windows Vista. Interface speed and drive burst has no meaning to the sustained speed you actually get. 30-60 seem to be the normal. The best way forward is to use file-recovery software. I ended up reinitializng the drive on Vista and then I could use it, but when I went to XP it would only find the drive in DISK MANAGEMENT. Cables to the disk (in my case, going to an external USB 2.0 hub) were checked and found to be OK. All rights reserved. In this window you should see all of your connected physical drives, their format, if they are healthy, and the drive letter.Change the drive letter of the drive.
It's just as if it has vanished. From there I clicked through and now it's being formatted as NTFS.That's how it should have been in the first place.. If it is OEM then you should be able to download the program.I would boot to the cd or utility and check the hard drive - see if the software that STATUS reads Healthy and under the bottom column i see Disk 0, Disk 1, Disk 2 but the 1 & 2 reads 513MB Unallocated and 913.51GB Unallocated.what do i do next
