Some more digging and EVERY ESXi client that was connecting via site-to-site VPN tunnel was listing the primary site gateway as it's host address. Right click the data center, choose Add Host.... I don't think this is such an unheard of operation and can be done within a cluster so long as you take proper steps such as putting the host into Maintenance I added both hosts to the cluster again and every thing seemed to work again… until I decided to rollout a template. check over here

Tried the disconnect and reconnect method, this worked 🙂 HOWEVER, my cluster is a EVC enabled cluster and i could not add the host back into the cluster untill i power The host IP was listed as having the remote site's gateway address. You could argue that you should remove the host from vCenter, but if you put it in Maintenance mode, nothing is vMotioning to it and plus you won't lose any performance/statistical
Not sure what happened with the OpenVPN tunnel but I went into Untangle Firewall (UTM box with OpenVPN) and made a few bypass rule changes. Not that I have this issue, or ever even seen it….. Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Thanks Romeo!
